As the weather turns colder, many local families are in greater need of essentials — warm clothing, food, and basic necessities. Our Community Share Shed, created and implemented by Public Works Director Patrick Moore, continues to be an important resource for neighbors helping neighbors, and we’re so grateful for everyone who donates and supports this program!

To ensure the Share Shed remains available and accessible to those who truly need it, we’re making a small change to how it’s used. The shed will now remain locked when not in use, but the process for both donating and receiving items will stay simple:

📞 When you arrive at the Share Shed (available M-F, 8:30am-5:00pm), please call 919-938-3885 and press 1 for “Administration & Billing.” A Town Hall staff member will meet you at the shed to unlock it and assist you.

Right now, the Share Shed is very low on supplies—and we could use your help! Donations needed include:

  • Canned goods (no dented cans, please)
  • Non-perishable and shelf-stable food items
  • Baby food, clothing and supplies
  • Toiletries and paper products
  • Blankets, jackets & cool-weather clothing (please, no summer items)
  • Other useful items and necessities

The Share Shed is located at our Town Hall Campus:
4083C Wilson's Mills Road, Wilson's Mills, NC 27577.

Honoring the History of Wilson’s Mills

The Historical Preservation Project is well underway, and we’re excited to share that interviews, photographs, and records are actively being collected to celebrate and preserve the rich heritage of Wilson’s Mills. We’ve already connected with several founding families and long-standing residents to document their stories—stories that bring our town’s history to life in powerful and personal ways.

As we continue this ongoing effort, we’ll be adding new oral histories, photos, newspaper clippings, and other discoveries to this page and our social media channels—so check back often!

Our goal is to build a lasting archive that honors the town’s journey from its roots in 1868 through incorporation in 1996, and beyond. This growing collection will help safeguard the unique history of Wilson’s Mills, promote community pride, and may even lead to the creation of a dedicated Historical Society in the future.

We invite all citizens—past and present—to be a part of this meaningful work as we celebrate where we’ve been and help shape where we’re going.
