WMPD Camera Program

Wilson's Mills Community Camera Program

The Wilson’s Mills Police Department in conjunction with the Town of Wilson’s Mills has partnered with local community churches, the Wilson’s Mills Fire Department, Wilson’s Mills Elementary, HOA communities and our business community to develop a security program that is camera based and will assist with crime prevention and aid investigations.  Promoted as a deterrence to crime, the town is committed to the WMPD Community Camera Program as it currently has twenty-four (24) Verkada commercial grade fixed cameras spread across three neighborhoods, the community park and Town Hall.

The goal is to expand throughout Wilson’s Mills with coverage of traffic intersections, roadways and into our developing commercial district. We encourage all residential communities and businesses to consider joining our efforts to promote safety and keep criminal activity from entering Wilson’s Mills.  A “wired community” can be a tremendous asset toward encouraging growth, protecting home values, and promoting prosperity as our population growth continues.  The Wilson’s Mills Police Department is prepared to meet these increased challenges. To succeed, WMPD needs understanding, patience and funding from community and town leaders. Together, we can ensure Wilson’s Mills remains the safe, quiet place that we call home.
