I’m starting a business, what should I do?

When starting or transferring a business within the town you must complete a zoning/change of use permit so the town is aware of the type of business that will be conducted. Please contact our Planning Technician, Leigh Hartley for further information.

Can I add a second residence on my property?

Depends. There are many factors that go into this decision. A few factors we look at are the size and usage of the second residence. The second residence cannot be a primary residence and cannot be larger than 25% of primary residence. Can I put a double wide trailer on my property?

Double wide mobile homes are allowed with additional standards such as wheels/tongues removed, masonry underpinning, and a 32 sq. ft. masonry landing at each door. For more information or questions about these requirements contact our Planning Technician, Leigh Hartley.

A site plan is a two-scale drawing of your property that includes all structures, and setbacks. Setbacks are the required distances from property lines new structures must follow.
