The Town of Wilson’s Mills is joining communities across the country in recognizing See Tracks? Think Train!® Week, September 21–27. This national rail safety campaign encourages drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and residents to use caution around railroad tracks and crossings. Always obey warning signs and signals, never drive around lowered crossing gates, and never walk, play, or take photos on railroad tracks. By staying alert and making safe choices around railways, we can all help protect our community.
Following the recent passing of Mayor Fleta Byrd, the Town of Wilson’s Mills is accepting applications from qualified residents interested in being considered for appointment to serve the remainder of the unexpired mayor al term through December 2027. The Mayor of Wilson’s Mills is ordinarily elected by the citizens of our community. When a vacancy occurs before the end of a term, however, the Town Council is responsible for appointing a qualified individual to serve the remainder of that term.
