Mayor Fleta A. Byrd has declared a State of Emergency for the Town of Wilson’s Mills in response to an approaching winter storm forecasted to bring snow, sleet, and freezing rain. These conditions are expected to create hazardous road conditions, potential power outages, and other risks to public safety that may persist for several days.
The State of Emergency applies to all areas within the Town of Wilson’s Mills and activates the Johnston County Emergency Management Plan, along with all applicable mutual aid agreements. Town law enforcement and emergency personnel are directed to cooperate fully in emergency response efforts.
This declaration took effect at 5:00 p.m. on January 23, 2026, and will remain in effect until it is modified or rescinded.
