Wilson’s Mills is more than just a place to live—it’s a community we create together. The ‘Make Your Mark’ initiative is about giving every resident a chance to be part of shaping our story, strengthening our connections, and leaving a positive mark on the town we all call home.
We believe community engagement is the foundation of a thriving town. By inviting residents to share ideas, participate in projects, and connect with neighbors, we strengthen the bonds that make Wilson’s Mills unique.
Everyone has something to contribute, whether it’s your time, your talents, your ideas, or simply your presence. ‘Make Your Mark’ is a reminder that every voice matters and every effort—no matter how small—can have a lasting impact on our town.
Our first project under this banner is already in motion: painted rocks carrying messages of encouragement, hope, and kindness. They serve as a symbol of what ‘Make Your Mark’ is all about—spreading positivity and creating connections, one small act at a time.
What My Rock Means To Me
"This is a quote I read years ago that reminds me when our time is disorganized, it often reflects deeper struggles with priorities and responsibilities. It creates motivation toward intentional living and creating space for peace and clarity."
"So many people go through life allowing others to devalue them. You’re worth more than other people’s opinions and harsh words. In all relationships - romantic, platonic, familial - know your worth. You’re worthy of love, acceptance, and respect."
"Society is constantly telling us to look a certain way, act a certain way, BE a certain way in order to fit in. One of the most important things you can do for yourself is to be yourself no matter what others think. You are your own person, unique and wonderful. Enjoy being you!"
"This is a reminder to embrace growth in its natural form. Just as wildflowers bloom freely without rules or boundaries, ‘grow wild’ encourages us to nurture our potential, be authentic, and flourish in any way we can. It’s about celebrating resilience, beauty, and the freedom to thrive wherever life plants us."
Bark Park Decor
The Town Hall staff decorated a reclaimed fire hydrant to be added to the new Caren M. Triplett Memorial Bark Park. Many thanks to the Public Works team for prepping the hydrant and setting up a space for the staff to “make their mark.”
