Leighanna Worley is a Johnston County native. She began her career in Municipal Government in 2001 working for the Towns of Pine Level and Selma until April of 2006 when she was appointed Town Clerk for the Town of Wilson's Mills and served in this role for 17 years.  Leighanna has served as the Town Administrator for 8 years.

Leighanna graduated in 2009 from the Clerk's Institute at the School of Government at UNC Chapel Hill. She received her designation for Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) from the IIMC and UNC School of Government in 2011, then received her Master Municipal Clerk Certification (MMC) in 2016.  Leighanna also received her North Carolina Certified Municipal Clerk designation (NCCMC) from the NC Association of Municipal Clerks in 2012. 

After joining the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks in 2006, Leighanna has served on various committees, and served as President of the Association from 2018-2019. Leighanna has also been a member of the North Carolina City & County Management Association since 2018.

Outside of the Town of Wilson’s Mills, Leighanna serves on the Board of Directors for the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce; as an Advisory Council Member for Civic Federal Credit Union; and was appointed by the Johnston County Commissioners in 2023 as a resident advocate for the Johnston County Nursing Home/Adult Care Home Community Advisory Board. In her free time, Leighanna enjoys cooking, and traveling around the country with her family and friends.
