Mayor Fleta A. Byrd has declared a State of Emergency for the Town of Wilson’s Mills effective Friday, January 30, 2026 at 5:00pm due to an approaching winter storm expected to bring snow, strong winds, hazardous road conditions, and possible power outages. This declaration will remain in effect until modified or rescinded. The Johnston County Emergency Management Plan is now in effect. Residents are urged to use caution and stay informed as conditions develop. More updates will be shared as available.

The Wilson's Mills Police department urges the public to contact 911 during the storm if a citizen feels they need the police (even if it is not an emergency) to respond to their house or in their neighborhood to address a need.
